Lita Rossana Ford, popularly called Lita Ford, is a British-born American musician, vocalist and songwriter. She was the lead guitarist in The All-Girl Hard Rock Band, The Runaways, in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed throughout the rock world. The group did not make it on the scene in their home country of the United States, but gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford began a metal solo career when the band broke up in 1979. After studying voice she released her solo debut album "Out for Blood" and followed it up with "Dancin' at the Edge". Ford was unable to achieve much with either album, so she walked away from the rock scene for about 10 years. In 1988, Ford released her groundbreaking success album , 'Lita.' the single "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were both big hits. Unfortunately, the success of her career was not long-lasting and over a long period of time she was absent from the entertainment industry. After releasing 'Black in 1995 and a few years following, "Wicked wonderland", she re-emerged. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
